Icelandair Baggage Allowance for Musical Instruments

Instrument as a Checked Luggage: Passengers traveling with Icelandair can carry the musical instruments as their checked luggage. The airline will charge an amount for small instruments under the maximum linear size dimension of 158 cm (62 in). Additionally, the airline will count it under a free checked baggage allowance. Instruments exceeding 158 cm (62 in) will be considered large equipment. Also, make sure that all the musical instruments are appropriately packed.

Icelandair Baggage Allowance for Sports Equipment:

Icelandair Airlines will apply heavy baggage fees if the bicycle weighs 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg).

Bowling Equipment: The airline may count bowling equipment under a free baggage allowance. There must be only one bag with three bowling balls at most. Additionally, the maximum weight must not exceed 23 kg.

Diving Equipment: The airline will count the diving equipment under the free baggage allowance. You must ensure that the oxygen tank is empty and that the overall maximum weight for this diving equipment must not exceed 44 lbs (20 kg) to consider it small sports equipment. It will be regarded as medium sports equipment if it weighs more than 45-70 lbs (21-32 kg).

Hunting Gears: Explosive ammunition and hunting gears are prohibited in Icelandair, but a passenger can carry them in some exceptional cases. Domestic flight passengers can add their hunting gear directly from the online service or at the airport. International flight passengers will have to inform the airline about the booking and the quantity of the ammunition to the airline at least 48 hours before the departure. These hunting gears will count as free baggage. If the gear is checked as extra luggage, a weapon fee will be applicable at the airport.
