Arik Air Hand Baggage Policy

On all flights, passengers can pack only one piece of carry-on bag, which can weight up to 6kg. Such bags are allowed on board, and passengers can stow them in the luggage compartment over their seats.  If you prefer, you can keep it under the front seat. However, the Arik Air baggage size changes according to the nature of the flight, whether it’s domestic or international. The size of a cabin bag can be 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm on international and regional flights. For other flights, it can be 33 cm x 23 cm x 38 cm as per the Arik Air baggage allowance for local flights.

Personal Item On Board

Aside from carry-on bags, passengers are allowed to bring one personal item as well. However, it should be light and easy to carry. You can store such an item under the seat. You may pack any of the following with your cabin bag:

• Overcoat or raincoat
• Umbrella or walking stick
• Camera, camcorder, or portable CD player.
• Reading material like newspapers, books, and magazines. 
• Handbag, briefcase, or a duffle bag. 
• Tablet or a laptop bag.
• Things purchased from duty-free shops at the airport.
• Baby food, formula, and milk for infants.
• Completely collapsible pram or a carry-cot.
• Folding wheelchair, a pair of crutches, or other assistive devices. 

Restrictions on Liquid-based Items

Liquid and gel-based items are completely banned as per Arik Air baggage allowance for international flights. So, if you are flying to a foreign destination departing from Nigeria, you cannot pack liquid items in carry-on bags. However, you can bring liquid, aerosol, or gel-based items on domestic and local flights up to a certain limit. The airline will approve liquid items in a sealed container with a maximum capacity of 100 ml. Passengers with multiple containers have to pack them in a single plastic bag with a volume of one liter or equivalent to 20cm x 20cm (8 x 8 inches). The bag should either have a zip-top or resealable packaging and must not exceed the Arik Air baggage limit. Usually, the following items are counted under this category:

• Creams and lotions 
• Hair gel and hair spray 
• Suntan lotion or sunscreen
• Toothpaste 
• Perfumes and deodorants in the form of aerosol or liquid.

Arik Air Checked Baggage Guidelines

Arik Air baggage allowance includes checked items that a passenger can submit at the counter and that are not accessible during the flight. Checked bags are free of charge as long as they comply with size and weight restrictions. The weight of a single bag should not exceed 30kg in any case. As per the quantity, it varies based on the travel class you’re flying in. Nevertheless, a passenger can submit a maximum of 10 bags at the check-in counter. There is no Arik Air baggage allowance for infants. Accompanying passengers can pack only handbags, as stated in the above sections. However, if the infant is occupying a seat, the airline may offer checked bags the same as the adult passengers. 

What is Arik Air Checked Baggage Policy Document?

Lost Baggage Liability On Arik Air 

Although the airline gives in all to make sure your bag is handled with care, having the right knowledge of the airline’s liability in case of baggage loss, delay, or damage is important. The responsibility of Arik Air is very limited in this case until an article of high value is declared in advance to the airline. The airline does not hold any accountability for fragile, valuable, perishable items that are packed and transported in weak containers.
