ANA Airlines provides some of the most relaxing and comfortable baggage allowance among all other airlines. ANA baggage allowance gives freedom to economy passengers as well to carry 2 pieces of baggage for the base fare. All Nippon Airways baggage policy allows passengers to bring 1 carry-on baggage and 1 personal item with them such as a small laptop backpack, purse, briefcase, etc. Also, ANA personal item size and cabin baggage need to be checked so that they must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of passengers.

Strollers or kids trollies can be carried as cabin luggage if they meet the requirements of the airlines. This will be counted as carry on baggage. If it’s an Economy cabin class, then the overall weight must not exceed 44 lbs (20 kg), and for Premium Class passengers, the weight must not exceed 88 lbs (40 kg) in total. Note that ANA Airways hasn’t released any restrictions on the number of bags allowed. However, the combined weight of all the baggage must not exceed the allowed weight limit.

Also, the checked bags must be under the maximum linear dimension of 158 cm (62 inches).

Talking about the number of bags a passenger can carry as a checked bag, the airline allows Economy and Premium Economy class passengers to bring 2 bags that must be under 23 kg (50 lbs). Similarly, Business class passengers need to make sure that the first 2 bags must be under 70 lbs (32 kg), and First class passengers’ first 3 bags must include 70 lbs (32 kg). Excess Baggage Allowance Purchase At The Airport

Passengers traveling to some of the domestic and many international destinations and regions are allowed to purchase extra baggage allowance by paying an additional amount. This includes different charges for different regions. Area 1 includes North America, South and Central America, and Hawaii. Area 2 includes Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and Area 3 includes Asia (including Japan), and Oceania.

  1. Flight Sectors Between the USA and Japan: Passengers traveling with excess checked baggage will have to pay a fee of $200 while traveling across the above areas for eg. between America and Japan.
  2. Flight Sectors within Area (2) Between Thailand and Japan: Passengers will have to pay a fee of $100 for carrying excess checked baggage allowance traveling within the above-mentioned area (2).
  3. Japan Domestic Sectors: Passengers traveling within domestic sectors of Japan can carry excess baggage by paying a fee of $50.

Passengers traveling with overweight or oversized baggage will have to pay additional baggage fees. The airline will charge the amount depending on the destination and extra weight/size added. Area 1 includes North America, South and Central America, and Hawaii. Area 2 includes Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and Area 3 includes Asia (including Japan), and Oceania. Check the below table to know about the exact baggage fee for the weight and size added:

  1. Flight sectors across the above areas (1): Passengers traveling with an overweight of 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg) will have to pay $60 fee, with an overweight of 70-99 lbs (32-45 kg) will pay $200, and Oversize up to 158-292 cm (62-115 in) will pay a fee of $200.
  2. Flight Sectors within Areas (2) (Non-domestic): Passengers traveling within above mentioned areas in Area 2 will have to pay a fee of $60 for overweigh up to 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg), $200 for overweight up to 70-99 lbs (32-45 kg), and $200 for oversize up to 158-292 cm (62-115 in).
  3. Domestic Sectors of Japan: Passengers traveling domestically in Japan carrying excess baggage will have to pay a fee of $10 for overweight between 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg), $50 between 70-99 lbs (32-45 kg), and $50 of oversize between 158-292 cm (62-115 in).

Note: If in any case, 2 or more criteria are exceeded, then the passengers will have to pay the sum of all the excess charges applicable. Also, 292 cm (62 inches) total size baggage may not be accepted.

Passengers traveling in All Nippon Airways (ANA) are eligible to carry 2 pcs of baggage even in the Economy cabin class for the base fare. Also, the All Nippon baggage allowance (ANA) gives freedom to carry a maximum of 10 kg carry on baggage weight. All Nippon Airways carry on sizes must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm (22 x 16 x 9 in).
