Norwegian Baggage Allowance 2024 – Pay Less on Luggage

Norwegian Airlines is one of the lowest-fare airlines in the world that offers to carry only one cabin luggage to the passengers. The airline offers five different fare types on which the baggage allowance depends. Travelers flying in Low Fare Cabin class can carry one carry-on luggage that must fit under the seat. Norwegian Carry On Size Baggage

Norwegian Airlines offers various travel fares on which the baggage allowance depends. For its cheapest fare class, passengers are only eligible to carry one personal item that must fit under the seat in front of them. Passengers cannot place this bag inside the overhead bin. This comes under the Low Fare cabin class, in which the Norwegian carry on size dimensions allowed is 30 x 20 x 38 cm with a maximum weight of 10 kg. 

Similarly, LowFare+ passengers can carry two cabin luggage. One is a personal item that must fit under a seat with maximum dimensions of 30 x 20 x 38 cm, and one is an overhead cabin bag whose dimensions must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm. Norwegian Checked Baggage Allowance

Passengers traveling with Norwegian Airlines can carry checked baggage (excluding the LowFare cabin class). The number of bags, size, and weight depend on the cabin class booked. No checked luggage is included in the LowFare class, but it can be purchased after paying extra. Passengers can buy or modify their checked baggage 4 hours before the flight departure. 

LowFare+ passengers are eligible to carry one checked bag with a maximum weight of 23 kg and overall maximum size dimensions of 250 x 79 x 112 cm. Similarly, Flex, Premium, and Premium Flex passengers can carry two checked bags. Check the table below in case of any confusion:

Norwegian Airlines Excess Baggage Fees

Musical Instruments as Checked Baggage: You can carry musical instruments as checked luggage by adhering to some special conditions introduced by the airlines. Pack all these instruments in a hard case designed for that specific instrument.

Instruments Smaller Than 90 x 75 x 55 cm: The airline allows the instruments as checked luggage without additional cost if it is under 90 x 75 x 55 cm. Also, you must pay an excess baggage fee for every extra kilogram added if the weight exceeds 23 kg. 

Instruments Bigger Than 90 x 75 x 55 cm: You can pay the charges for booking your instrument at the airport on the same day the flight departs. The maximum size of an instrument you can carry is with max. circumference of 300 cm (size dimension 250 x 79 x 112 cm).

Charges for Musical Instruments: Norwegian Airlines may charge an amount of 35-60 Euros per item for each way to carry the musical instruments. Additionally, if the excess baggage charges are applicable, you must pay 12 GBP for each kilogram added over 23 kg.
