Traveling with the Live Animal is impossible on many airlines. However, this is not an issue with Surinam Airways as it offers flexible baggage allowance for passengers willing to travel with their pets. Only cats and dogs are allowed to carry as a pets on Surinam Airways. The airline only allows 5 pet kennels per flight, depending on the aircraft type. Travelers must ensure that the combined weight of the pet and kennel does not exceed 55 kg. Also, the pet carriage must be in good condition and lockable to avoid the escape of pets during the flight. 

  • Pet carriage must be rigid from the outside and soft from the inside so that the pet will not injured during the travel. 
  • Only one pet can be carried inside a kennel and must have enough space to stand up straight or lay down comfortably.
  • In an exceptional case, a mother animal can travel with their puppies not older than 4 months.
  • There can be excess baggage rates applicable on the pet travel may vary depending on the destination selected and flight booked.

If your pet is a well-trained guide dog, only the airline allows you to travel without a kennel. In addition, only one guide dog per cabin, whether Economy or Business class, is allowed. Also, the airline doesn’t charge fees for transporting a guide dog.

Pets Inside The Cabin: Kennel must not exceed an overall dimensions of 43 x 31 x 20 cm. The maximum allowed combined weight must not exceed 8 kg.

Pet Travel Fees for Cabin: If the pet travels on a Regional flight, USD 100 per flight per passenger will be charged. For mid-Atlantic flights, the applicable price is the same: USD 100 per flight per passenger.

Pets as Checked Luggage: If you carry a pet as checked luggage, the linear size dimensions of the kennel must be above 157 cm and not more than 406 cm. Additionally, the total combined weight of the kennel and pet must not exceed 55 kg.
