Traveling on a flight can be a dream for many passengers. Lao Airlines baggage allowance offers an impressive baggage policy for travelers to travel without any problem. It allows them to carry a maximum of one piece of bag in an Economy Class that must not exceed an overall weight of 7 kg. Additionally, the size of the luggage must not exceed the linear overall size dimension of 115 cm. 

Lao Airlines Carry On Baggage Policy

Any passenger traveling with Lao Airlines can carry one piece of cabin luggage with a maximum weight of not more than 7 kg and a maximum linear size dimension of 115 cm or 12 x 24 x 7 inches (30 x 60 x 18 cm). Travelers must ensure that the baggage size is under the given restrictions; otherwise, the airline may refuse to accept the luggage as a carry-on bag. Lao Airlines carry on Baggage states that the heavy luggage will be carried as a checked bag. 

Additional Carry On Items

Passengers traveling with cabin luggage under the standard carry-on allowance can also carry some personal items inside the cabin. These additional items can be carried out by paying an extra charge. Carry-on personal items include:

• Handbag
• Overcoat, wrap, or blanket
• Umbrella or walking stick, excluding the sharp pointed objects

Lao Airlines Checked Baggage Allowance

If any traveler carries heavy luggage while traveling with Lao Airlines, the airline allows them to carry enough baggage allowance so there will be no issue during check-in. Lao Airlines usually offers Economy and Business Class to Domestic and International Flight passengers. 

Economy Class: Adults or children traveling in Economy Class can carry up to a maximum of 44 lbs (20 kg). Infants can carry up to a maximum weight of not more than 22 lbs (10 kg). 

Business Class: Passengers traveling in a Business Class can carry up to 66 lbs (30 kg) of weight for adults and children. Infants traveling with Lao can carry not more than 22 lbs (10 kg) of checked luggage.

Note: 

• There are some routes where the maximum weight allowance for checked luggage is 15 kg and 5 kg for a handbag.
• Passengers must ensure that all valuable items such as jewelry, precious metals, silverware, negotiable papers, securities, confidential files, and documents are placed inside the cabin luggage instead of checked.

If any passenger packed more luggage than the baggage allowance, there is no need to worry as Lao Airlines allows passengers with excess luggage. Lao Airlines Special Baggage Allowance

If a passenger is a sports athlete, plays it for fun, and is willing to travel with their sports equipment, the airline allows them to do the same under some restrictions. 

Bicycle: Travelers can carry their bicycles as checked or cargo luggage. But ensure the bicycle is properly packed in a strong cardboard box specially made for bicycles. Tires must be deflated, handlebars and pedals must be removed. The maximum allowed weight of the bicycle must not exceed 10 kg. 

Other Equipment: If the passenger travels with a golf bag or club sets, these items must be carried as checked or as cargo luggage. In addition, each Golf Set must only include a pair of golf shoes per passenger that too must not exceed an overall weight of 10 kg. 

Note: If, in any case, the sports equipment carried as checked luggage exceeds the free checked baggage allowance, applicable Lao Airlines baggage fees will be charged to the passenger. 

Dangerous Goods

Lao Airlines baggage policy states that passengers carrying any item or substance that is hazardous or dangerous to anyone’s life cannot be carried inside the aircraft. This item includes acids, radioactive materials, poisons, explosives, magnets, wheelchairs with wet-cell batteries, bull semen packed in dry ice, pesticides, etc. All these dangerous items must be carried as cargo luggage. Liquid Restrictions

Lao Airlines allows each passenger to carry liquids inside the aircraft as cabin luggage under some restrictions. The airline allows passengers to carry up to 100 ml of liquid as cabin luggage. Here are some key points to remember while carrying the liquids as luggage:

• Some exceptions exist to carry liquid items such as gels, aerosols, medications, infant food, and milk.
• All the liquids must be carried inside the containers that must not exceed an overall volume of 100 ml. 
• All the containers must be placed inside a transparent resealable plastic bag.
• Each passenger can carry only one transparent bag. 
• The liquids purchased at the airport’s duty-free shops must be carried inside the sealed transparent bag packed by the seller, including the shop’s name and date of purchase, without opening the bag.
