Nok Air Luggage Rules for Passengers

Nok Air Cabin Baggage Allowance

The airline permits only one piece of baggage under the Nok Air carry on baggage allowance. Passengers can bring bags that measure equal to 56 cm X 36 cm X 23 cm and weigh under 7kg. Nok Air Checked Baggage Allowance

According to Nok Air baggage policy, no checked bag should weigh over 30kg, and the total allowance cannot be over 40kg. Bags should be handed over to the airline with an identification tag. Checked bags should have the passenger’s name, address, phone number, destination name, etc, affixed securely to them. Once the bag is accepted, the airline will transport it on the same aircraft. Ensure not to pack valuable or fragile items in your checked bags. However, if the baggage contains any dangerous or harmful content, the airline will reject it for safety and security concerns. Nok Air Baggage Fees

The airline charges Nok Air baggage fees for checked bags. Every passenger is liable to pay the fee amount for bag transportation. NokAir Excess Checked Baggage

Passenger bringing in bags over and above their allowance have to pay additional charges. NokAir excess baggage is any bag that is bigger or heavier than the permitted weight and dimensions. The airline charges an extra fee as a penalty for beginning oversized or overweight bags. Thus, bring baggage as your fare permits otherwise, pay the following excess baggage fee:

Nok Air Baggage Policy for Special Baggage

All baggage that is larger or heavier or requires unique handling are categorized as special under the Nok Air baggage policy. Such items are assessed and charged before the passenger boards the plane. If an item measures over 40 cm x 75 cm x 50 cm, it will require special handling. However, the overall weight of these items must not exceed 30kg. The following items are considered under the mentioned category:

• Sports equipment like Bicycles, Golf, Diving Equipment, Surfboards, Archery Equipment, Fishing Equipment, etc.
• Musical instruments like Guitars, Drums, Keyboard instruments, zithers, etc.
• Electronic items like television sets, computers, etc. 

Passengers can carry smaller musical instruments like violin, ukulele, flute, etc, onboard with them. In addition, the airline will not charge any additional cost. However, the size of the instrument must not exceed 56 x 36 x 23 cm. The airline will apply standard carry-on baggage rules. 

Applicable Fee for Sports and Special Items

Conditions for Carrying Firearms, Ammunition, and Realistic Replicas

Passengers are allowed to pack firearms, ammunition, and realistic replicas on domestic flights if they meet following outlined conditions. Nok Air permits only one firearm or realistic replica of firearms per passenger. Every passenger is allowed to carry ammunition up to 5kg, and it should be packed separately from the firearm. Other conditions for carrying firearms, ammunition, and realistic replicas are listed below: 

• Passengers must present their firearms unloaded and ensure that they have gone through proper inspection to get the authorization to board the plane with them. 
• Make sure to pack them inside a suitable hard container. Moreover, you cannot carry it as hand luggage; check it in as hold luggage. 
• If you want to carry firearms/ammunition/replica firearms on board, permission is granted in accordance with these instructions.

• Original firearm license 
• Original license for possession or use
• A copy of firearm or ammunition purchase license. 
• A police ID card
• Authorized license or certificate stating the approval of carrying an issued firearm under Thai law. 
• People who can carry firearms are government officers, state enterprises, or individuals who are seeking government support. 

Travel Safely with Your Pet on Nok Air Flights

Nok Air accepts only domestic and harmless dogs, cats, and rabbits as pets for traveling. However, if your pet is pregnant, the airline will not accept it. The age of the animal should be at least two months or over, he/she should be in good health condition, well-cleaned, and odorless. Your pet is considered special baggage and charges fee as follows:

• A Pet in a kennel weighing between 1kg and 15kg and volumetric weight is less than 15kg – THB 1,500
• A pet in a kennel weighing between 16kg and 30kg and volumetric weight is less than 70kg – THB 2,000

Note – the volumetric weight is calculated by adding up all sides of the kennel and dividing it by 6000 (Length (cm) x Width (cm) x Height (cm)) / 6,000)

Additional Conditions for Pet Carriage

Pet are allowed only if they are inside a suitable carriage and it must meet conditions outlined in this section. You have to bring a single-gated plastic pet cage that should be approved according to the IATA regulations to prevent your pet from escaping. It also protects your furry friend from possible damage during flight. Ensure that the cage has at least one ventilation, and its floor should be liquid absorption. The airport staff should be able to identify it as an animal cage. 

Before buying the cage, check if your pet is able to stand upright and fit inside it from the nose to the base of the tail without struggling. The width of the cage must be twice your pet’s shoulder length. If your pet is not able to roll around or stand properly inside the cage, it is not the right fit. Passengers are responsible for submitting the pet and the cage with an attached pouch and an adequate amount of food and water.
